| Established 21st April 1885 Sans Souci School has a strong educational tradition. Many parents, indeed grandparents, of present students attended the school. This tradition is the foundation for strong community involvement in many school activities.
27 May is our school Open Day.
This day is set aside as an important part of Education Week. During this
time members of the community are invited into the school to join in and
celebrate the wonderful achievements of our students and the school in
general.
Classroom visits will be from 10.45am – 11.30am. You are also invited to
stay for a free sausage sizzle for lunch. If your child is in the a dance
group, Choir or the Performing Band the timetable for those performances is
set out below:
Where: School Hall
When:
9.45am Welcome by the Principal
9.50am Junior Jazz 10.00am Senior Choir
10.15am Junior Choir
10.30am Senior Dance
The Performing Band will be under the COLA playing for us during lunch.
We look forward to seeing you on the day.
Class 3/4C will be having a video conference with Hoxton Park PS from
10.30am in the computer room and all parents are invited to come along and
witness this fabulous technology in action. The library will be open to view
children's work and for book donations during the day. Donation books are
priced between $5.00 and $20.00.
It is strongly requested that all student belongings are labelled
clearly. The amount of unclaimed ‘lost property’ is astounding and must be
very costly to replace. Please check uniforms, lunch boxes , school bags etc
to ensure a name is clearly labelled.
At the P & C meeting a new president
was elected as Mr Herbert Haes resigned from the position due to personal
commitments. We would like to thank Mr Haes for his great work and
welcome Alison Law to the position of president. We look forward to a
successful year with the P&C and thank them for their fantastic support of
the interactive whiteboard program.

We have a very exciting term ahead for our school bands. The Band
Committee are constantly trying to improve our band program and due to the
varying numbers in each band, there has been a mutual decision from the
Committee to join the Senior and Intermediate Bands together. From Term 2 in
2009, we now have ‘Sans Souci Performing Band’ and ‘Sans Souci Training
Band’.
We will have a performance in
Education Week and I am currently in the process of applying to enter
The ‘Engadine Music Bandfest’. This competition is at the end of this term.
All very exciting!
